The İstanbul Food Festival takes place in Sultanahmet Square every June. It is one of the biggest food events in Turkey. Various countries have food stalls at the festival. Visitors can try traditional dishes from Turkish, Italian, Japanese and Mexican cuisines. People can also watch cooking shows, attend workshops and buy local ingredients. This year, over 20 countries are participating in the festival. The festival opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. It is a wonderful opportunity to explore different food cultures from around the world.

Yuki is from Japan. She is visiting Turkey for the first time. She usually eats sushi and ramen at home. At the festival, she is trying kebab for the first time. “This is delicious! The spices are different from Japanese food,” she says. Her new Turkish friend Deniz is showing her around. Deniz usually prefers home-cooked meals, but today she is enjoying street food. “Are you having a good time, or do you want to try something else?” asks Deniz. “I want to try everything!” says Yuki.

They taste fresh and light. The Mexican stall has tacos with beef, lettuce and sour cream. They are crunchy and flavourful.

Right now, he is making a cheese omelette. Elif loves Italian food. She usually cooks pasta at home. At the moment, she is preparing a Turkish salad with her friend. “Do you prefer sweet or savoury food?” asks Mrs. Aksoy. “I prefer savoury food,” says Cem. “Are we cooking or eating now?” jokes Elif.

Model Text
My favourite dish is mantı. It is a traditional Turkish food. You need dough, minced meat, yoghurt and tomato sauce to make it. First, you prepare small pieces of dough and fill them with meat. Then, you boil them in water. Finally, you add yoghurt and sauce on top. It tastes delicious and savoury. I usually eat mantı on Sundays with my family.
Your task: Write a similar paragraph about YOUR favourite dish. Include:
